How does this substance work?
Basically, the small doses of botulinum toxin used in medicine work by blocking the release of a chemical produced in the nerve endings called acetylcholine that is responsible for the contractions of the muscles. When in this way we selectively interfere with the contraction capacity of the muscles of the desired areas, the lines of the skin between the eyebrows are smoothed and, in most cases, they disappear within a week.
When botulinum toxin is contraindicated?
Botulinum toxin injection is contraindicated when there is an infection in the area where the treatment is to be applied and in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s preparations.
When do they take to appreciate the effects?
After the application of botulinum toxin, the effects are appreciated after 48-72 hours. and they are completed in 10 to 14 days. The total duration of the effect varies between 4 to 5 months.
