At NuBody we offer surgical and non-surgical solutions to get rid of that double chin and look thinner.

The famous double chin or Fat Pad can have an unfavorable effect on most people, as it usually adds extra pounds or simply does not look aesthetic.

It is one of the least invasive and most effective solutions. This technique involves applying small intradermal injections to treat it with draining, lipolytic and firming substances such as phosphatidylcholine, I-carnitine, caffeine, artichoke extract and organic silicon. For this treatment it is usually necessary between 2 to 4 sessions.

Mesotherapy strengthens elastin fibers, stimulates the production of collagen, fights free radicals and stimulates cell activity. The injections reach the subcutaneous fat, hence its effectiveness. When fat accumulation or flaccidity are not severe, this technique can be used with excellent results.

How does it work?

The treatment lasts between 30 and 45 minutes and the use of local anesthetic is necessary because it hurts a little, but it is totally ambulatory. It produces a little inflammation that lasts between two and seven days maximum.

The number of sessions varies depending on the volume of fat to be dissolved, up to a maximum of four sessions that must be between four and six weeks. But from the first you can see the results.

The main advantage of the treatment is that it not only dissolves the fat, but also contracts the skin.

From the moment it is punctured until the 17th day, the localized fat is eliminated and, starting on the 19th, the skin begins to fall back

The reason why the skin is tense is because it causes a large inflammation and, when this inflammation is reabsorbed, the affected structures are tensioned.

It is complemented with other cosmetic procedures?

To achieve greater results, Radio Frequency sessions are performed to accelerate the tension process and define the contour of the jaw.

How is the recovery?

It is an outpatient procedure and you can return to normal activities as soon as possible. The treated area usually presents a slight swelling that may last 2 to 3 days after the treatment is applied.

Some people are frustrated by what is commonly known as a double chin. What we commonly known as double chins is the accumulation of fat under the jaw. There are some common characteristics that contribute to the appearance of the double chin. Patients usually have a combination of the following characteristics:

  • Laxity of the platysma muscle
  • Excess fat
  • Small Chin

Patients with any combination of these characteristics may be candidates for chin surgery.

How does it work?

An incision is made just below the chin, where it is easy to hide. The skin of the neck is elevated to expose the underlying fat. If there is excess fat, it is eliminated, either directly or with liposuction.

Liposuction of jowls is a surgery that is indicated for young patients, who have elastic skin and tense and who want to reduce the fat that is under the chin.

Liposuction of jowls is performed on an outpatient basis and is usually performed under local anesthesia. It is a very simple plastic surgery that will allow you to return to your usual routine after 3 or 4 days.

If the patient is not young and has a lax platysma muscle, it tightens with stitches. This allows an important structural support for the neck and thus obtain a defined neck angle.

If the patient’s chin is small, a chin implant is used to create a more prominent chin.

The incisions are closed with absorbable sutures.

Then a compression strip is placed and must be worn for several weeks after the surgery.

What results should be expected after the surgery?

The physical benefits of jowl surgery are the following:

  • Definition of the cervical angle
  • Reduction of the roundness of the face
  • Reduction of neck fullness

How is the recovery?

Most patients describe that the recovery period of a double chin surgery is fairly easy.

Inflammation will be observed more on the third day after surgery, and usually decreases within one to two weeks after surgery. Some patients do not experience bruising. The following information will give you an idea of what kind of activities are safe during the recovery period.
